                                                                                                     Spiritual Warfare
(Part 1 - The Armor of God)

The believer who does not familiarize themselves with spiritual warfare will indeed be a poor soldier for Christ. The world, the flesh and the devil has to be challenged and defeated by the victory won for us through our Lord Jesus Christ!!
Eph 6:10-11,”Finally, be strong in the Lord and His mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devils schemes.”
Christians are engaged in a spiritual conflict with evil. This spiritual conflict is described as a warfare of faith, (2 Cor 10:4; 1 Tim 1:18-19; 6:12), that continues until they enter the life to come (2 Tim 4:7-8; gal 5:17). The believers victory has been secured by Christ himself through His death on the cross. Jesus waged a triumphant battle against Satan, disarmed the evil powers and authorities, (Col 2:15; Mt 12:29; Lk 10:18; Jn 12:31), led captives in his train, (Eph 4:8), and redeemed the believer from Satan's power (Eph 1:7; Acts 26:18; Rom 3:24; Col 1:13-14).
At the present time Christians are involved in a spiritual warfare that they wage by the power of the Holy Spirit (Rom 8:13): (a) against the sinful desires within themselves (1 Pet 2:11; Gal 5:17); (b) against the ungodly pleasures of the world and temptation of every sort (Mt 13:22; Gal 1:4; Jas 1:14-15; 1Jn 2:16), and © against Satan and his forces. Believers are called on to separate themselves from the present world system, hating its evil (Heb 1:9), overcoming and dying to its temptations (Gal 6:14; 1Jn 5:4), and condemning openly to its sin (Jn 7:7).
Christian soldiers must wage war against all evil, not in their own power (2Cor 10:3),
but with spiritual weapons (Eph 6:10-18; 2 Cor 10:4-5). In their warfare of faith,
Christians are called to endure hardships like good soldiers of Christ (2 Tim 2:3),
suffer for the gospel (Mt 5:10-12; Rom 8:17; 2 Cor 11:23; 2 Tim 1:8), fight the good fight
of faith (1 Tim 6:12; 2 Tim 4:7), wage war (2 cor 10:3), persevere (Eph 6:18),
conquer (Rom 8:37), be victorious (1 Cor 15:57), triumph (2 Cor 2:14), defend the
gospel (Php 1:16), contend for the faith (Php 1:27; Jude 3), not be frightened by
opponents (Php 1:28), put on the full armor of God, stand firm (Eph 6:14), destroy
Satan's strongholds (2 Cor 10:4), take captive every thought (2 Cor 10:4), take captive
every thought (2Cor 10:5) and become powerful in battle (Heb 11:34).
We need God's armor because we dont battle flesh and blood, but principalities
(Eph 6:12).  Our human know how, wisdom, and strength will never defeat Satan in a
spritual battle (Eph 6:13). Jesus already defeated Satan for us. But, wehave to use our
salvation and the word of God to its fullest. By putting on the full armor of God, it
equips us to be able to stand firm against the subtle and open attacks of Satan
(Eph 6:10-11).
Rom 8:6 tells us, “To be fleshly minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is
life and peace.”
