Bible Study Lesson's - Page 3
                                                                                     SPIRITUAL WARFARE
(Part 3 – Power over Satan and Demons)

With the increased interest in the Occult (Magic, Astrology, or any other supernatural activities such as psychic abilities, palm reading, the reading of Tarot cards, and even the fascination with the study of the Paranormal and playing with Ouija boards. The Christian needs to be aware that the world glamourizes these and other worldly activities, and should be ready at all times thru prayer and fasting to engage in or fight an ongoing battle with Satan and his demonic powers (2 Tim 2:24-26; Ps 25:19). Christian believers of today need Spiritual sensitivity to the Holy Spirit concerning all their enemies, and importantly they need to know how to fight the good fight of faith (1 Tim 6:12).
As believers, we need to realize that our emotions and feelings will come and go, and that they are deceiving and can be used against the believer to create doubt, lack of faith, and disbelief in scriptures and God's promises. Ignorance of Satan's devices will leave gaping holes in the believers defenses, in which the enemy is more than willing to move against us. This is why a believers relationship with Christ along with prayer, fasting and the study of scriptures is so important, it will guide the believer in what to do as well as show them how to proceed in spiritual battle. Eph 6:10 tells us, “Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might”.
There is way to much at stake for any believer to be less than satisfied in being, “Mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds” (2 Cor 10:4). Christians need to be very careful and should never joke about Satan, hell or any demonic activity. Believers should also take great caution when giving him credit for those things that are self inflicted, (consequences brought on by our own actions). Scriptures also tells us that ALL believers have authority over Satan and his principalities, but, they still need to recognize that Satan has, (at this time anyways), power and influence on this earth and even though Christ has assured us that a true believer can never be possessed by Satan's demonic powers, because a believers soul cannot be shared with an evil presence and the Holy Spirit both, they cannot occupy the same space...But if a believer chooses not to follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit, it leaves them open to attacks and influence of Satan's demonic powers.
Jude verse 8 and 9 says,”Likewise also these dreamers defile the flesh, reject authority, and speak evil of dignitaries. (Ref. 2 Pet 2:10)”; “Yet Micheal the archangel, in contending with the devil, when he disputed about the body of Moses, dared not bring against him a reviling accusation, but said,”The Lord rebuke you!” As you can see by these verses, Jude is warning believers to stray away from Apostate teachers, and those who openly denounce and joke about Satan's authority here on earth. As you can see in verse 9, even Micheal the archangel would not judge or mock Satan...
Spiritual Warfare must always be based upon, and used in a biblical entirety, and believers should always seek the Holy Spirit to guide them while Rebuking and casting out evil presence and influence. All feelings, emotional desires, and true sincerity are not strong enough weapons against Satan's powers. In other words, we can not solely rely on ourselves to have the strength to defeat Satan's strongholds....Satan and his demonic followers will only retreat by the authority the believer has thru his relationship with Christ along with the absolute truth of the WORD of GOD!!!! Scripture teaches us that believers face three enemies in warfare – The world, the flesh and the devil...Each one plays a unique role against believers. It is vital to the believers victory thru our Lord Jesus Christ in this battle that we know how each of these 3 enemies will come against them. It is important that we are able to discern what type of temptation were facing in any given situation.
New believers in Christ need to understand also that as soon as they accept Christ as their Lord and Savior they become a new creation in Christ, their new found relationship with Him will begin to radically change everything else. The new believers physical, mental, spiritual and emotional concepts start becoming a new. They are now a citizen of Heaven with their time on earth being unknown, are now called to glorify Christ in all things and be a good steward and representation as God's child.
